Why you should use a Cleansing balm to remove makeup and cleanse the skin?

Cleansing Balms are revolutionising the way you remove your makeup and cleanse the skin at the end of the day. For a very long time, most of us assumed that the purpose of cleansers was to strip the skin of everything and leave it squeaky clean. And although you do want to remove all traces of makeup, dirt & pollution at the end of the day, trust us when we say that you do not want to completely strip your skin and leaving it “squeaky” clean is probably the worst thing you could do. Basically you do not want to clean your skin (especially the skin on your face) like you clean your teeth!

For many who suffer from oily skin, hormonal breakouts or acne, cleaning it without any oils and using strong drying cleansing gels might seem like the way to go. And if it works for you, then great! But for many, it’s actually counterproductive to strip the skin of oils and moisture as it’s only going to cause your skin to freak out and increase its production of sebum. And before you know it, you end up scratching your head wondering how you ended up with blemishes AND dry skin! Another benefit of using cleansing balms instead of foaming gels for those of us with oily skin, is that balms will actually reduce inflammation caused by existing blemishes and help your skin renew itself.

Cleansing Balms are perfect for both oily and dry skin as they simply & gently cleanse the skin, removing all traces of makeup, dirt, pollution and dead skin cells. Balms help restore balance to the skin and deeply nourish it by giving it all the vitamins and fatty-acids it needs to renew itself during the night.

We would suggest for those with oily skin to use a cleansing balm to remove all traces of makeup, then rinse it thoroughly with warm water and face cloth. And then… repeat! That’s right, double cleansing might seem very time consuming but some things are REALLY worth some of your precious time.

And if you have dry, dehydrated and/or sensitive skin, you can still double cleanse, but try leaving the balm on your face the second time around like you would a mask. Anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depending on how much time you have on your hands. Your skin will love you!

If you want to give Cleansing Balms a shot, our Honey Cleansing Balm is 100% clean & has been formulated using only high quality oils: Apricot Kernel, Sweet Almond and Argan Oils. We also added Raw Honey for its healing and gentle exfoliating properties as well as Beeswax extract to reduce inflammation and create a moisture retaining barrier on your skin. Trying it is loving it!
